Assateague Island

At last, some new travel to report! This past weekend I went camping with my sister and several new friends on Assateague Island in Maryland, which is known (to everyone but me, apparently) for its population of wild ponies. It was overcast the whole time, but we still had fun getting our feet wet on the beach, walking through the marsh, and looking out for deer and horses.

(That's Kate and Elliot having a seaweed fight. Some things will never change.)

Great photos. I love the one of Kate and Elliot! Looking at the photos I can see why you came home with a nasty cold!! Give me a nice hotel any time.

haven't you ever heard of Misty of Chincoteague? I possibly read that book >10 times when I was little!

I'm so glad you came! Thanks so much for your help in my weakened state! That was an awesome shot of me getting Elliot.

Awesome pics!

I personally can't get over the word "Assateague." Both because I'm from Wisconsin and because I have the maturity level of an eight-year-old boy.
